Tarma Aran

We’re super excited to show you a new yarn we’ve been working on, Tarma Aran! 

Hand dyed in 14 rich semi solid shades, this yarn is perfect for cosy sweaters and accessories.  The palette has been specially designed to work well for colourwork and the semi solid shades would also look great knitted in squishy cable patterns. 

Made of a mix of Peruvian Highland Wool and Alpaca, Tarma Aran also benefits the Mirasol school, with a percentage of each sale going to help educate the local children near where the yarn is spun. 

Tarma Aran knits up as a slightly thicker Aran weight, on 5.5mm needles you can expect a tension of 16 sts and 22 rows to 10cm after blocking.

60% Peruvian Highland Wool, 40% Superfine Alpaca

65 metres (75 yards) per 50g skein

5.5mm (US 9) needle

17 sts and 22 rows to 10cm (4”) before washing

16 sts and 22 rows to 10cm (4”) after washing

Both over stocking stitch using 5.5mm needles

Hand wash separately in cool water and dry flat

Every skein is unique, please alternate skeins
